Padyak bikes are reconditioned single-speed bikes with step-through frames intended not for speed but for safety, comfort, visibility and function. Utility baskets will be mounted on the handlebars where students can place their belongings. The bikes are selected and tested by UPM bike enthusiasts who contribute their time and expertise about bicycles during our trips to a bike bodega.

Specially-designed Padyak decorative disks are mounted on the wheels for visibility. The disks carry visual messages about energy conservation and saving the environment. Various UP alumni artists, such as Ninoy Leyran and Robert Alejandro offered their talent for free in making these designs.
