6/27/2008 - The Great Bike Out: UP Padyak Project

To launch the UP Padyak Project, Padyak bikers, advocates, supporters and friends are riding around the UP academic oval from 11:30 to 1 pm. and 4 to 5:30 pm. The launch also marks the celebration of the 31st anniversary of the founding of the UP Mountaineers. Everyone who supports biking for the environment is invited to join and bike with us. Bring your bikes.

6/7/2008 - Bike Clinic: All you need to know about biking safely and effectively.

To all Padyak riders (including those who signed up for the first semester) :

You are invited to a Bike Clinic on June 7, 2008 Saturday at 8:00 am at the A.S. Parking Lot in front of Palma Hall. The Clinic will be conducted by Mr. Jack Yabut of the FireFly Brigade. You will learn more about riding more effectively, safely, essential bike maintenance and a lot more.

5/6/2008 - Summer Volunteers

Quite a handful of UP students have volunteered for the test phase of the Padyak Project.

Each time we give out bikes, we give a brief orientation on safety and health checklists. Volunteers also get to be matched with the bikes, adjust the height of the seat, etc. We also get encouragement from Professors who happen to pass by during these orientations. They tell us how biking systems are well-run in other universities abroad.

We await feedback from these volunteers on how their experience of biking in the campus went through the summer. To our volunteers, have fun, ride, safe, and thank you for helping the Project.
